Congratulations on the grand opening of the new Wellness Rx pharmacy, located in the Astor House building on Tannersville’s Main Street. Its location reflects the values of the business. The community has been lacking a pharmacy since McManus Pharmacy closed several years ago, and Hunter-side residents either had to go to Windham or Cairo to get prescriptions filled. The Hunter Foundation was also instrumental in the recruitment of Wellness Rx to Tannersville, which is the company’s second location. Inside Wellness Rx, room is available for wellness seminars. Wellness Rx is also already a Lyme Disease Wellness Center.

Integrative and informative, the not-quite-traditional Wellness Rx combines regular medications with natural products for a holistic approach to health care. Along with long-approved prescriptions, this facility provides immunizations, has clinical rooms for private consultations, is a pharmacist-training center and focuses on Lyme disease. “Most illnesses can fit into one or more of four categories: pain, diabetes, cardiac problems and mental illness,” says owner/pharmacist Ed Ullmann. Wellness Rx addresses all types of illnesses, while working in conjunction with already established area Yoga and Massage centers.
Greene County authorized an $80,000 economic development loan to assist Wellness Rx. Mr. Ullmann is a licensed pharmacist with retail experience as a Pharmacy District Manager (PDM) and operator of independent pharmacies. He has developed over 30 start-up companies, and for 16 years served as the Founder, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of a publicly-traded New York-based health management company (Wellcare). He is an outspoken leader and innovator in the health care industry and has received numerous recognitions, distinctions, and awards.
